Aspen Hill, Maryland
Scout Troop 763B (boys) and Troop 763G (girls) are a diverse, inclusive and welcoming group, located in Aspen Hill, Maryland. We have fun while teaching practical skills that aren’t taught in schools. We understand that many families are not experienced in outdoor skills but can come learn them together at 763.
Our membership is not limited to Aspen Hill as we service students from all over Montgomery County. We welcome ALL kids ages 11 through 17 to join our troop.
Our troop is in the White Oak District of the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of Scouting America.
We are sponsored by the Strathmore-Bel Pre Civic Association, which is a small community organization that represents the neighborhoods along Bel Pre Rd, Layhill Rd and Hewitt Ave.
The troop operates under the principles of youth-led programming, fostering independence and responsibility.
Scouts take on leadership roles, guiding their peers in activities and decision-making.
Meetings and activities are planned and executed by scouts, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Adult leaders provide support and mentorship, ensuring safety and adherence to guidelines.
Skills development is emphasized, with scouts learning various outdoor and life skills.
The troop encourages community service and engagement, reinforcing values of citizenship and service.

Our meetings are hosted at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church at 3820 Aspen Hill Road, Silver Spring, Maryland 20906.
We aim for 1-2 weekend activities every month which will include service projects, camping, hikes, outdoor time, swimming instruction/pool time, merit badge classes, and fun activities.
We meet on the first, third, fourth and fifth Wednesdays of every month from 7:00pm-8:30pm. At our meetings, scouts discuss upcoming activities, teach Scout skills and rank requirements, and do fun activities. Parents are welcome to attend and encouraged to volunteer.
The troop aims to go camping 9 months out of the year. January, February, and March include cabin camping and the Potomac District Klondike Derby. April, May, June, September, October, and November include campouts at state parks.
We go to a week long sleepaway summer camp at Goshen Scout Reservation every July. Scouts work on Merit Badges and various outdoor activities.
Giving back and helping our community is a big focus for our Troop. We volunteer at food banks, do park clean-ups, collect food for the Scouting for Food project and help with various Eagle Scout Projects.
